Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island seeks a Machine Operator in the Advanced Manufacturing Group to support machining activities across teams, including setup, operation of NC and manual machines, material prep, and inspection.

You will work first shift, collaborate with engineers, document processes, and help build infrastructure and process flow initiatives while maintaining safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily machining functions of the team, including but not limited to: chip, coolant, and work-holding management.
• Operate various machines as required, both NC controlled and manual, including but not limited to saws, mills & lathes.
• Prep and route material for machining operations.
• Utilize and inspect components as required.
• Perform daily maintenance and regular cleaning of machinery and equipment.
• Support logistic operations for the team.
• Support the buildout of infrastructure and process flow initiatives.
• Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes.
• Partner with leadership to execute initiatives work based on organizational goals.
• Perform all tasks in safe and responsible manner.

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As a Machine Operator with the Advanced Manufacturing Group, you will be part of a hardworking team of machinists, engineers, and makers supporting development across different groups at Blue Origin.

• First shift (Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm)

Qualifications

Must Be Physically Able To

• Lift and carry 50 lbs.

Desired

• Experience in a CNC machining environment, including the logistics of material flow
• Experience with operating CNC machines, including but not limited to saws, mills, lathes
• Experience inspecting components with hand tools
• Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
