Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island seeks a Machine Operator in the Advanced Manufacturing Group to support machining activities across teams, including setup, operation of NC and manual machines, material prep, and inspection.

You will work first shift, collaborate with engineers, document processes, and help build infrastructure and process flow initiatives while maintaining safety and quality.

  • Must be able to obtain certification to drive forklift.

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As a Machine Operator with the Advanced Manufacturing Group, you will be part of a hardworking team of machinists, engineers, and makers supporting development across different groups at Blue Origin.

Responsibilities
  • Support the daily machining functions of the team, including but not limited to: chip, coolant, and work-holding management

Schedule
  • First shift (Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm)
Qualifications

Must Be Physically Able To
  • Lift and carry 50 lbs.
Desired
  • Experience in a CNC machining environment, including the logistics of material flow
  • Experience with operating CNC machines, including but not limited to saws, mills, lathes
  • Experience inspecting components with hand tools
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts.

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
