Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a facilities technician to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and safety-compliant upgrades across our NY facility. You will handle plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks while supporting events and small projects.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional extended shifts.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
• Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
• Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
• Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
• Manage and track service tickets, ensuring timely resolution and accurate reporting
• Support company events and assist with small facility-related projects
• Install, repair, and maintain fixtures, furnishings, equipment, and interior/exterior finishes
• Identify and mitigate safety hazards to maintain compliance with workplace safety standards
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and future repair needs
• Assist with facility improvements such as painting, sealing, and minor construction tasks

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable.

• Must be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces.

• Use various tools to include standard electronic hand tools, precision measuring instruments, shop equipment (drill press, grinder, saws, etc.), fabrication equipment (wire-wrap, crimp, and solder station), as necessary to accomplish assigned work.

• Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Work Environment & Schedule
