AmeraTrail Custom Boat Trailer Manufacturer seeks a Machine Set-Up and Operator to ensure machines are properly configured and capable of meeting quality and efficiency targets. You will study blueprints, prepare fixtures, set up tools, and monitor machine performance to guarantee output aligns with specifications.

The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to adjust controls as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred.
• At least 1 year experience as a machine operator is required.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
• Study blueprints, work orders, and specifications to ensure proper setup sequence.
• Select, place, and secure tools.
• Place and secure workpieces using clamps and wrenches.
• Prepare fixtures and feeding devices, start machine, and engage feed.
• Observe each machine to verify quality performance.
• Verify gauges, calipers, and micrometers are in proper working order.
• Set and adjust controls to regulate machines.
• Sharpen tools with a bench grinder as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Machine Operator Level I.

The Machine Set-Up and Operator ensure machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quantity, efficiency standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Set up and operate tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
• Studies blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.
• Selects, places, and secures tools.
• Places and secures workpieces in the proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
• Prepares fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine, and engages feed.
• Observe each machine to verify quality performance.
• Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers are in proper working order.
• Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines.
• Sharpens tools with a bench grinder as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Thorough understanding of mechanics and other properties of machines.
• Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Ability to follow proper safety protocols.
• Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.
• At least one year of experience as a machine operator is required.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in noisy environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all machine parts.

Starting Salary is $16.00 per hour.
