Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. The role includes securing materials and maintaining supplies necessary for smooth operation.

The position requires basic math, attention to safety, and the ability to maintain accurate production records while working in a team-based manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience in manufacturing/assembling.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the work area and production machine.
• Operates and feeds the machine safely and efficiently.
• Stacks finished products and may label/band components as needed.
• Keeps work area clean, organized, and safe; ensures equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift equipment inspection and reports issues.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products for standards compliance.
• Performs duties per safety and quality procedures; participates in safety and CI programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.


• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.


• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.


• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.


• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.


• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.


• Maintains production records as required.


• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.


• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.


• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.


• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
