Job summary

Kent Nutrition Group in Arcade, NY is seeking a Machine Operator on 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.). You will operate equipment to process and manufacture feed products, load-out, bagging, and record shift production.

Attention to safety and quality is essential, with opportunities to assist scheduling and inventory control. Minimum High School diploma or GED, 3–5 years of manufacturing experience and mechanical aptitude preferred; farming background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to process and manufacture feed products
• Run the bagger, sewing machine, forklift and other feed manufacturing equipment safely
• Follow warehouse and loading protocols
• Ensure quality assurance of ingredients, load-out and bagging
• Record and document produced feed during shift
• Assist with production scheduling, inventory planning & control
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repair as needed
• Load/unload trucks safely and provide excellent customer service
• Follow all policies and safety procedures
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Management

MACHINE OPERATOR (Finance)

This is a 2nd shift opportunity with a schedule of 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily operation of equipment to process and manufacture feed products
• Operate the bagger, sewing machine, forklift and all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow warehouse and loading protocols
• Ensure Kent Nutrition's quality assurance is met regarding ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging
• Record and document all feed manufactured during shift
• Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently assuring accuracy and high quality
• Assist management with production scheduling, inventory planning & control for both ingredients and finished products
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repair as needed
• Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner
• Provide excellent customer service
• Observe and enforce all company policies & procedures
• Perform general work around the facility and other duties as assigned
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or GED
• 3 to 5 years manufacturing/factory experience
• Farming background a plus
• Mechanical aptitude preferred

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic computer knowledge
• Good communication, verbal, written and math skills
• Able to effectively communication with customers, co-workers and customers
• Ability to work as a team member
• Thorough understanding of cGMP's
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, HACCP Feed & Safety Plan, and FSMA
• Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. from floor to working height as job requires
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check

WAGE:

• Starting at $19.50 an hour
