Job summary

KENT Nutrition Group is seeking a Manufacturing Operator in Arcade, NY. This weekend role runs Friday through Monday with day or night shifts available. Candidates should operate extrusion and mash mixing equipment, follow GMP guidelines, and support quality and sanitation efforts.

Ideal applicants have OSHA knowledge, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. Pre-employment drug screening is required, and experience in feed manufacturing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
• Understanding of feed manufacturing and willingness to learn and grow.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Understanding of feed mill equipment and layout.
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. from floor to working height.

Responsibilities

• Operate extruder and mash mixing equipment following safety and GMP guidelines.
• Meet or exceed all product quality standards.
• Complete operation and mixing reports accurately and on time.
• Clean equipment and work areas as assigned to maintain sanitation.
• Prevent contamination by properly setting turnheads and ensuring bins are clean before use.
• Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance needs.
• Assist with dumping birdseed as needed.
• Adjust operations as needed to maintain product integrity.
• Follow production schedules and sequencing procedures, including flushing and clean-outs.
• Handle and load micro-ingredients safely, including lifting up to 55 lbs. to a height of at least 4 feet.
• Maintain clean, organized ingredient storage areas and follow FIFO practices.
• Perform scheduled cleaning, servicing, and quality assurance tests.
• Keep production running efficiently to support downstream operations.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of mixing activities and samples.
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Management.
