Job summary

MCC is seeking a Press Utility to assist Press Operators with setup, make-ready, and cleanup tasks within defined time frames. The role supports color changes and external make-ready operations, while maintaining cleanliness and safety across equipment and workspaces.

Responsibilities include following quality specs, completing required documentation, and contributing to on-time production. Prior print shop experience helps, but strong teamwork and material handling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent experience.
• Print shop experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
• Able to read job tickets and understand measurements from rulers.
• Ability to differentiate colors and pass color and eye tests.

Responsibilities

• Assist Press Operators with setup, make-ready, and cleanup within scheduled times.
• Support external make-ready operations during color changes.
• Clean ink pans and related equipment; prep dies and plates as needed.
• Help ensure quality by following MCC specifications and documenting as required.
• Maintain clean and organized workspace; adhere to safety policies.
• Work overtime as needed and perform related duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for a Press Utility to join our team. The Press Utility is responsible for assisting the Press Operators as directed to perform press setup, make-ready, and clean-up activities within a defined time frame.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures


• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes


• Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)


• Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover


• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment


• Strips plates from cylinders


• Locates dies to and from the press


• May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light


• Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC


• May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation


• Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspace


• Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned


• Related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


• Print shop experience helpful, but not required


• Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team player


• Ability to read and understand a job ticket


• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)


• Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)


• Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)


• Ability to input data into the computer


• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
