Job summary

MCC Label is seeking a Press Utility to support Press Operators with setup, make-ready, and cleanup tasks in a fast-paced print shop environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, willingness to learn, and the ability to read job tickets and measurements. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work well in a team to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Print shop experience helpful, but not required
• Ability to communicate with others (verbal and written); is a team player
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (pass ruler test)
• Ability to pass eye test
• Ability to differentiate colors (color test)
• Ability to input data into the computer
• Able to work in a fast-paced team with urgency
• Physically able to stand, lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
• Attains and maintains defined job objectives related to planning and execution
• Assist in preparation for changeovers between label jobs
• Assist in post-changeover clean-up
• Clean ink pans and ancillary equipment
• Strip plates from cylinders
• Locate dies to and from the press
• Work with a press operator to view labels with a strobe light as needed
• Maintain quality assurance and related documentation
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of workspace
• Work overtime when needed
• Related duties as assigned

We are currently looking for a Press Utility to join our team. The Press Utility is responsible for assisting the Press Operators as directed to perform press setup, make-ready, and clean-up activities within a defined time frame.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures


• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes


• Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)


• Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover


• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment


• Strips plates from cylinders


• Locates dies to and from the press


• May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light


• Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC


• May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation


• Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspace


• Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned


• Related duties as assigned
