Responsibilities

  • Perform static and dynamic balancing of rotating assemblies.
  • Assemble machines to customer specifications and blueprints using standard and specialized tools.
  • Operate grinding machines to meet tight tolerances, including diameters within ±0.0002 inches.
  • Read, understand, edit, and offset CNC programs by interpreting program code and monitoring machine operation.
  • Take, verify, and document measurements using measuring tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Move, arrange, and handle parts using forklifts, overhead cranes, and walk-behind lifts.
  • Identify and report quality defects, equipment concerns, and unsafe conditions per procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow processes for safe operations.

Job Overview

Gardner Denver - Industrial Technology and Services, LLC, a division of Ingersoll Rand, manufactures blowers and compressors for industrial, commercial, and government applications. Our products are designed by industry leading engineers and manufactured to exacting specifications. Our knowledgeable team takes metal castings and other raw materials and turns them into the high-performing products we are known for around the world.

The Assembler/Machine Operator will perform various tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product. You will ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. The Assembler/Machine Operator works under limited supervision, responsible to perform a variety of duties efficiently with high quality results. This position is responsible for safely performing high-level continuous work to quality standards. Assignments may change based on business demands. You must have desired technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. Ability to interpret instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision.

Responsibilities
  • Perform static and dynamic balancing of rotating assemblies in accordance with established specifications and quality standards.
  • Assemble machines to customer specifications and blueprints using standard and specialized tools while following required torque specifications.
  • Operate grinding machines to produce parts within specified tolerances, including diameters requiring accuracy up to ±0.0002\".
  • Read, understand, edit, and offset CNC programs by interpreting program code and monitoring machine operation and performance.
  • Take, verify, and document measurements using appropriate measuring tools to ensure parts meet required specifications.
  • Safely move, arrange, and handle parts and materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, and walk-behind lifts.
  • Identify and report quality defects, equipment concerns, and unsafe conditions while following established safety and quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, follow established processes, and communicate or ask questions as needed to ensure accurate and safe operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of machining experience; CNC experience preferred, manual machining experience may be accepted
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances, specifically ±0.0002\" (two tenths) on grinding diameters
  • Blueprint reading experience required
  • Ability to understand and edit CNC programs and make offsets
  • Proficiency with basic machine shop gauging tools (OD micrometers, snap gauges, height gauges, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs throughout the shift
  • Ability to operate cranes and walk-behind lifts as needed
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
