Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for operating and maintaining Recycling machinery and equipment, including baler, trash compactor, and forklift. Ensures timely processing of recycling merchandise and understands the Otay Outlet operation while following GISD policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and maintain Outlet Equipment according to established procedures. Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs with management approval.
• In the absence of management, assume responsibilities such as opening/closing the department, posting daily assignments, and ensuring staff are in their designated areas.
• Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures, serving as a safety role model.
• Complete required logs and documentation, ensuring compliance guidelines are followed.
• Assist customers with donations and issue donation receipts.
• Collaborate with supervisors to meet production goals.
• Utilize 4DX methodology to achieve organizational objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Skills and Abilities: High School Diploma or GED preferred; minimum of one year related experience; safety-oriented with mechanical experience preferred; computer skills appropriate to the role; forklift certification required; physical ability to use manual tools and work five days per week, including weekends and evenings.
