Job Title: Machine Operator
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Pay Range: $19 - 20/hr
Location: San Diego, CA
Work Type: Onsite, 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 5:30 am to 2 pm. Optional 4 am starts and Saturday work semi-frequently.
Job Overview:
- The Machine Operator is entry-level, involving tasks like visually inspecting materials, labeling products, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Basic computer skills are required for training purposes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Weighs, measures, and verifies raw materials and parts.
- Performs manual manufacturing tasks.
- Assists in operating basic to fully automated filling equipment.
- Uses basic laboratory equipment: scales, balances, pipettes, etc.
- Follows and fosters a safe work environment.
- Maintains accurate and complete training records.
- Understands and executes written procedures, manufacturing records, and logs.
- Performs housekeeping and cleaning of the manufacturing laboratory/area.
- Assists with material handling, stocking of lab, and assigned daily lab responsibilities.
Physical Demands:- Sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lifting/moving and carrying products weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and/or moderate noise levels.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.
- Safety Shoes with Impact and Compression Protection must be worn.
- Exposure to blood.

Job Qualifications:Required Education:- High School/GED and 0-2 years related experience.
Required Experience:- Basic knowledge of QSR & ISO requirements.
- Basic computer skills.

- Basic computer knowledge.
- Basic understanding of record keeping and mathematics.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory practice, procedures, techniques, instruments, and equipment.
- Knowledge of current GMPs.
- Blood Borne Pathogen training.
Additional Points:- Emphasizes the importance of good attendance and the ability to get along with others.
- No flexibility in hours.
- Training will be conducted on the job during the 5:30 am – 2 pm shift.
- This is a position in a laboratory setting.
- Preferably some manufacturing experience, but not mandatory.
- Candidates with master's degrees are often overqualified and tend not to stay long-term.
- Prefers candidates with manufacturing experience but is open to hiring recent high school graduates.
- Avoid candidates with a history of frequent job changes, although understand that previous roles were temporary contracts of limited time.
- Difficulty with candidates who do not speak English, as communication is crucial.
- The need for candidates to fit well within a small team and have a good personality.
