Job summary

Amera Trail is seeking a Machine Operator Level I to set up, operate, and monitor machinery, ensuring outputs meet quality and efficiency standards.

You will study blueprints and work orders, prepare fixtures, start machines, verify gauges, adjust controls, and maintain safety protocols in a noisy shop environment.

Starting pay is $16.00 per hour; prior machine operation experience is preferred, with ability to lift up to 15 lbs and work in a team setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.
• At least one year of experience as a machine operator is required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines according to instructions and standard charts.
• Study blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to ensure proper setup sequence.
• Select, place, and secure tools.
• Mount and clamp workpieces in the correct machine table or holding device.
• Prepare fixtures and feeding devices, start machine, and engage feed.
• Observe each machine to verify quality performance and verify gauges.

Machine Operator Level I.

Job Summary

The Machine Set-Up and Operator ensure machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Set up and operate tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
• Studies blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.
• Selects, places, and secures tools.
• Places and secures workpieces in the proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
• Prepares fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine, and engages feed.
• Observe each machine to verify quality performance.
• Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers are in proper working order.
• Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines.
• Sharpens tools with a bench grinder as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Thorough understanding of mechanics and other properties of machines.
• Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Ability to follow proper safety protocols.
• Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.
• At least one year of experience as a machine operator is required.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in noisy environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all machine parts.

Starting Salary is $16.00 per hour.
