Aerotek in Rutherford, NJ is hiring a Machine Operator I for an entry-level role within an ISO 9001 environment. You will operate production equipment, load materials, monitor performance, and ensure parts meet quality standards while maintaining a clean, safe work area.
The role requires OSHA-safe practices, ability to read blueprints, and basic measuring tools. Overtime, full-time, onsite in Rutherford, with comprehensive benefits and weekly pay.

Shift: 6am-4:30pm or 4:30pm-3am (Monday-Thursday)

The Machine Operator I is an entry-level role responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production equipment used to manufacture components and assemblies within an ISO 9001 quality management system. You will operate assigned machines, load and unload materials, monitor performance, and verify that products meet established quality standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Operate assigned manufacturing equipment and workstations in accordance with established work instructions, procedures, and safety requirements.
Load raw materials, components, and workpieces into machines or fixtures as required to support production schedules.
Monitor machine operation and product flow to ensure efficient production and adherence to established cycle times and output targets.
Conduct visual inspections of parts and assemblies to verify conformance with quality standards and documented work instructions.
Identify and promptly report product defects, equipment issues, material shortages, or other production concerns to the supervisor or appropriate personnel.
Complete required production documentation and transactions within ERP or manufacturing systems to maintain accurate production and inventory records.
Follow ISO 9001 procedures and documented quality processes to ensure consistency and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through daily 6S and housekeeping activities.
Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and communicating opportunities to improve security, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, quality personnel, and other departments to achieve operational objectives and resolve production issues.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing operations.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to follow safety procedures and standardized work instructions consistently.
Good communication skills to report issues, share information, and collaborate with team members.
Basic problem-solving skills to identify issues in production and assist in determining appropriate corrective actions.
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and follow documented work instructions.
Capability to use basic measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and variable schedules as business needs require.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform prolonged standing, walking, and manual handling tasks.
Adequate vision, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, to safely operate equipment and inspect parts.
Familiarity with basic machine operation in a manufacturing environment.
Exposure to machining operations such as mill and lathe work.
Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system.
Comfort using ERP or manufacturing systems to record production and inventory data.
Ability to use hand tools and gauges commonly used in a shop floor environment.
Interest in continuous learning and taking advantage of training resources to build technical skills.
This is a Permanent position based out of Rutherford, NJ.
The pay range for this position is $22.02 - $24.81/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
