API Heat Transfer in Racine, WI is hiring a Manual Machine Operator on 1st shift (5:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.). The role focuses on operating and maintaining production machinery to keep workflows efficient and safe.

You will set up equipment, monitor performance, inspect parts, document production data, and follow SOPs. Qualified applicants have a high school diploma and are willing to work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

What You Will Do

The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the production process. This role ensures that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while meeting quality standards. Operators play a critical role in maintaining workflow and minimizing downtime in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure equipment functionality.
  • Inspect products for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Record production data including quantities, machine performance, and downtime.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or process deviations to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets.

Physical Requirements for Manufacturing Production Employees
  1. Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
  2. Walking: Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
  3. Lifting and Carrying: Regularly lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds; occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance or equipment.
  4. Pushing and Pulling: Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
  5. Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
  6. Manual Dexterity: Good hand‑eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools.
  7. Climbing: Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
  8. Visual and Hearing Requirements: Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges; adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
  9. Environmental Tolerance: Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions); exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals; use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
