Job summary

Pennsylvania Drilling Co. is seeking a machine operator for our McKees Rocks (Pittsburgh) manufacturing location. You will set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain machinery to ensure efficient production.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and prior manufacturing experience. OSHA 40 certification is a plus, and strong safety awareness with good teamwork and communication is expected.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain and operate machinery, while ensuring the production runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).
• Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
• Test operation of machines periodically.
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
• Check output to spot machine-related mistakes or flaws.
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products; maintain activity logs.
• Operate hand tools and other equipment.
• Maintain company equipment and tools.

This position primarily works in a heavy manufacturing environment where the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to heat and cold both inside and outside of the building, and around loud noises.Remain on feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time.Carry objects up to 50 lbs. Requires employee to bend forward by bending at waist or by bending the legs and spine.Regularly grasp or reach and pick up objects.Repeated motions with wrists, hands, fingers.Must wear personal protective equipment such as, safety glasses, face shield steel-toefootwear, ear protection and related.
