Job summary

GTI Fabrication in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Machine Operator skilled in CNC machinery and brake presses to join our fabrication team. You will set up, run, and monitor equipment to shape, cut, bend, and finish metal components to tight specs in a fast-paced environment.

You will read engineering drawings, load tooling, inspect parts with precision measuring tools, and collaborate with colleagues to meet daily production goals while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machines and brake presses in fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and operate CNC machines according to work orders and drawings.
• Load and align tooling and program parts based on engineering specs.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and adherence to tolerances using calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery; report issues to maintenance/lead personnel.
• Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with production team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
• Document machine run times, material usage, and production data accurately.

Position Overview

The Machine Operator is skilled in CNC machinery and/or brake press operation to join our growing fabrication team. Operators will be responsible for setting up, running, and monitoring production equipment to shape, cut, bend, and finish metal components to strict specifications. This role supports end-to-end fabrication processes within GTI’s advanced manufacturing environment, contributing to production efficiency, quality output, and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and operate CNC machines (e.g., Flat and Tube Laser, Press Brake, and Panel Bender) according to work orders and engineering drawings.

• Load and align tooling, fixtures, and program parts based on engineering specs.
• Inspect finished parts for quality, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to tolerances using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery; report issues to maintenance/lead personnel.
• Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with production team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
• Document machine run times, material usage, and production data accurately.

Qualifications

Required

• Prior experience operating CNC machines and/or press brakes in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
• Basic understanding of machine setup, tooling changes, and part measurement.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and standard work instructions.
• Comfortable use of precision measuring tools.
• Commitment to safety standards and quality outcomes.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred

• Formal technical training or certification in machining, fabrication, or related fields.
• Experience with industrial metal fabrication processes (sheet/plate steel).
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM or CNC programming fundamentals.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. and walk fabrication areas.
• Will be assigned to a machine for the duration of the shift and is expected to stand and remain on their feet throughout the workday, except during scheduled breaks and meal periods.

Working Arrangements

• This is a full-time onsite position based in Phoenix, AZ.

$24.50 - $27 an hour
