Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company in Owatonna, MN is seeking a dependable Machine Operator to support the shift supervisor in the efficient processing of customer orders. Starting pay ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour with 1st and 2nd shifts: 1st shift Mon-Thu 5:00am-3:30pm and 2nd shift Mon-Thu 3:15pm-1:45am.

Qualifications

• High school education required; technical training preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Overhead crane operator.
• Must know how to use caliper, micrometer, square, protractor, and tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Process orders to customer specifications.
• Operate standup forklift and overhead crane to move material.
• Maintain safe and efficient production conditions.
• Use a micrometer and caliper to inspect cut to length parts and those produced on the equipment.
• Place material in staging area and package completed parts.
• Deburr parts and communicate with supervisor and machinists.

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting the shift supervisor in the efficient processing of customer orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for processing orders to customer specifications.
• Operate standup forklift and overhead crane to move material.
• Maintain safe and efficient production conditions.
• Utilize a micrometer and caliper to inspect cut to length parts, as well as those produced on the equipment.
• May place material in staging area.
• May package completed parts.
• May deburr parts.
• Communicate with supervisor and machinists.

Position Requirements:

• A high school education is required; technical training is preferred.
• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Overhead crane operator.
• Must know how to use caliper, micrometer, square, protractor, and tape measure.
