Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company is seeking a Machinist in Owatonna, MN to support the shift with CNC programming and operation. The role involves moving materials using a forklift and crane, and processing orders to meet customer specifications.

The position requires a high school education (technical training preferred) and 2–5 years of relevant experience, plus basic computer skills and precision measurement with caliper, micrometer, square, protractor, and tape measure.

Qualifications

• High school education required; technical training preferred.
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must know how to use caliper, micrometer, square, protractor, and tape measure.
• Experience in Automatic and CNC machine set-up and operation, or the vocational equivalent highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CNC machines
• Operate stand-up forklift and overhead crane to move material in the warehouse
• Process orders to customer specifications
• Do packaging and general housekeeping
• May receive/inspect and verify material count
• Maintain safe working conditions in the plant and staging areas to assure compliance with federal, state, and local laws
