Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Machine Operator in New Iberia, LA. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM with a pay rate of $14.00 per hour. You will operate manufacturing equipment, monitor quality, and help maintain production pace in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include pipe yard tasks, equipment operation, routine maintenance, and some mechanical repairs. High school or GED is preferred, with technical training a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to read work instructions and manuals.
• Experience with quality inspections and maintaining production standards.
• Committed to safety, reliable attendance, and teamwork.
• Technical training or coursework in manufacturing is a plus.

Job Duties

• Assist in pipe yard operations, including quality checking pipes after cleaning, replacing caps, and painting tubulars.
• Operate machinery, including high-pressure (20,000 psi) water blasting pump systems for pipe cleaning.
• Maintained and cleaned machinery and the facility.
• Assist with mechanical repairs as needed.
• Occasionally assist with debris removal and vacuum truck operations.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Experience operating manufacturing or production equipment.
• Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and basic technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to monitor equipment for proper operation.
• Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain production standards.
• Commitment to workplace safety, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
• Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Machine Operator.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Steel-toed shoes required on production floor
