Surge Staffing is seeking a dependable Slitter Operator to operate slitting equipment and process steel coil stock to customer specifications while upholding safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate reads a tape measure accurately, has manufacturing or machine operation experience, and is mechanically inclined. This is a stable full-time role with competitive pay and an attendance bonus in a paid lunch environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.
• Experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor slitting machines to process steel coil stock.
• Read work orders, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate production.
• Measure materials using a tape measure, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Perform machine adjustments and tooling changes to maintain quality standards.
• Inspect finished materials to verify dimensions and product quality.
• Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate production records.
• Troubleshoot minor machine issues and communicate larger repairs to the maintenance team.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Load and unload materials using forklifts or overhead cranes when required.
• Support production goals while maintaining quality and efficiency.
