Job description

Starting Rate

$23.75 per hour with a progressive pay scale.

Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Shift Premium: Additional $3.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Mix ingredients to established standard diet formulations using ingredient handling and mixing equipment.
• Pellet standard diets utilizing pelleting process equipment, including pellet mill, dryer, and cooler.
• Extrude diets using extrusion process equipment, including extruder and dryers.
• Operate grinding systems and related conveyance equipment.
• Perform and document quality control measurements such as moisture, temperature, durability, density, and weight.
• Complete and maintain production documentation in compliance with quality systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks like lubrication and cleaning.
• Learn and perform packaging responsibilities, acting as backup when needed.
• Participate in training and process improvement initiatives.
• Attend safety training to ensure workplace safety and conduct.
• Other duties as assigned, including overtime, alternate shifts, and weekends.
• This role involves working at heights, such as ladders and elevators; candidates should be comfortable with heights.

Qualifications and Education

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Industry experience is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Neat handwriting and accurate math skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and transcribe information accurately.
• Ability to stand for up to 6 hours, climb stairs and ladders, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

This position may be offered at different levels depending on education and experience, with salary adjustments accordingly.
