Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking a dependable Slitting & Rewinding Machine Operator to run production equipment that slit and rewind materials to exact widths and finished roll sizes in Livingston, NJ.

You will set up, operate, and monitor the machinery, load and unload rolls, measure finished products, and maintain quality while following safety procedures. Prior factory or machine-operating experience is preferred, and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous factory, manufacturing, machine-operating, or mechanical experience preferred.
• Experience operating a slitter/rewinder or similar converting equipment is highly preferred.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable working around production machinery.
• Ability to use and accurately read a tape measure.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle production materials.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor slitting and rewinding machinery.
• Load and unload rolls of material onto the machine.
• For materials weighing over 70 lbs., machine-assisted equipment is used to safely load and handle the material.
• Adjust machine settings, tension, speed, blades, and guides according to job specifications.
• Measure materials and finished rolls to ensure proper width and dimensions.
• Inspect finished products for defects and maintain quality standards.
• Perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
• Accurately read work orders and follow production specifications.
• Use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Keep the machine and surrounding work area clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety procedures and machine-operating guidelines.
• Communicate mechanical, quality, or production issues to the appropriate supervisor.
