Job summary

Lutron Electronics seeks a Machine Operator to join our Tanury manufacturing team at our Lincoln, Rhode Island facility. You will operate and monitor production equipment, follow established procedures, and help maintain product quality. Training will be provided, and prior experience in hands-on production is valued.

The role includes shift from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with overtime as needed. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. with no visa sponsorship required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical associate’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in machine operation, mechanical technology, or hands-on production is a plus.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and PPE is expected.

Overview

Lutron is seeking a Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team, working at Tanury—a Lutron company—at our Lincoln, Rhode Island facility.

Tanury is the premier decorative plater in the nation and; our work can be seen on high-end motorcycle and automotive parts, private and commercial aviation, marine hardware—even on the items you may wear such as high-end gift or jewelry items.

In this role, you will operate and monitor production equipment, follow established work and safety procedures, and help maintain consistent product quality. Experience with vacuum equipment or vacuum processing is helpful, but not required. We welcome applicants with experience in machine operation, mechanical or maintenance work, assembly, manufacturing, or other hands‑on production roles. Training will be provided on our equipment and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor production equipment and supporting systems after completing required training.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for production according to work instructions.
  • Follow documented procedures for operating equipment and completing production tasks.
  • Monitor equipment and production processes, record required information, and report unusual conditions.
  • Perform basic equipment checks and communicate maintenance or process concerns.
  • Follow safety procedures, including requirements for handling materials and working around equipment.
  • Maintain an orderly work area and support quality and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Complete assigned training and qualification steps.
Qualifications
  • Experience in machine operation, mechanical technology, equipment maintenance, assembly, manufacturing, or another hands‑on production role.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical associate’s degree - preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning to operate specialized equipment.
  • Ability to work 1st Shift: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to move to surrounding workstations and to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions in English.
  • Ability to work safely, wear appropriate PPE, and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to safely perform occasional work at elevated heights of 10 to 15 feet.
  • Ability to work in an environment where flashing, or strobing lights may be present during normal equipment operation.
  • Ability to safely perform job duties in areas where strong magnetic fields are present due to industrial equipment and processes.
  • Ability to accurately differentiate between colors used in production processes, materials, components, indicators, and quality inspections.
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.
