Job summary

Lutron Electronics’ Lincoln, Rhode Island facility is seeking a Materials and Inventory Controls Specialist to join our manufacturing team. You will maintain reliable inventory accuracy in an environment with scrap, rework, and frequent material movements, partnering with production and quality to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include receiving, storing, and issuing materials; conducting cycle counts; identifying discrepancies; generating reports; and ensuring clear communication of shortages

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in inventory control, materials, or warehouse.
  • Manufacturing environment with scrap/rework experience.
  • Experience improving inventory accuracy via cycle counting and labeling.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP or inventory-management systems.
  • Ability to read English production schedules, BOMs, and MRPs.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to communicate with internal production and external vendors.

  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions through receiving, issuing, return, storage, and scrap processes, and performing physical inventory.
  • Receive raw material, inventory and store it in warehouse.
  • Ensure scrap is identified, segregated, recorded, and removed from available inventory.
  • Conduct frequent cycle counts and investigate inventory variances, and reconcile physical inventory.
  • Provide inventory reports to management.
  • Identify recurring sources of inventory error and recommend corrective actions.
  • Pick, stage, and dispatch material to production.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, accurate labeling, and location control.
  • Communicate shortages, discrepancies, and production risks clearly and promptly.
  • Partner with plant quality to manage incoming material quality inspections.
  • Persistent follow-up on discrepancies and incomplete transactions.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, two-year associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of inventory control, materials, or warehouse experience.
  • Proven manufacturing experience in an environment involving scrap, rework, and material substitutions.
  • Experience improving inventory accuracy through cycle counting, labeling, standard work, or transaction controls.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP or inventory-management systems.
  • Ability to read in English production schedules, bills of material, and material requirements.
  • Practical problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to communicate with internal production stakeholders and outside vendors.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to work from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
