Job summary

Amcor is hiring for an on-site manufacturing technician in Libertyville, IL. The role supports secondary equipment, monitors uptime, and ensures equipment safety while assisting with mold protection and color changes.

Responsibilities include basic preventive maintenance, material changeovers, and supplying presses. The position emphasizes safety, ISO/BRC compliance, and continuous improvement within a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of experience in manufacturing or injection molding.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 35 lbs; vision requirements including color and depth perception.
• Regularly required to stand and walk; may stoop, bend or reach above shoulders.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous machine support by monitoring secondary equipment for uptime and safety.
• Communicate OEE impact to Shift Leader and address repetitive breakdowns.
• Resolve machine-related issues (full bowls, grinder jams, color changes, nozzle leaks).
• Perform beginner-level preventative maintenance tasks and material changeovers.
• Supply materials to presses and restart injection machines for mold protection.
• Maintain proper documentation for all materials and machines; uphold ISO/BRC standards.

Job Description Responsibilities

Provides continuous machine support by continuously monitoring secondary equipment for uptime efficiency and equipment safety. Understands Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) impact to effectively communicate to Shift Leader repetitive breakdowns. Resolves ongoing machine related problems (full bowls, closing machine restarts, grinder jams and color changes, purge removal from nozzle leaks). Performs beginner‑level preventative maintenance tasks (reparing coveryor, material jam, cleaning filters). Performs material changeovers (ie, color changes, additives, etc.) Supply materials to the presses. Restarts Injection Machines for mold protects, intermediate troubleshooting skills. Assess beyond mold protect for root cause. Fix minor cosmetic issues (burns, string flash) Maintains proper documentation for all materials and machines. Supports and maintains all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent 1 year of experience in manufacturing or injection molding, preferred Regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Standing/ walking for long periods of time.
