Machine Operator – Part-Time

Location: Pro Outdoor – Lake St. Louis, MO (On-site)
Employment Type: Part-Time, Hourly
Salary: $20.00–$30.00 per hour

Position Overview

Pro Outdoor is seeking a skilled part-time Machine Operator to assist with excavation and commercial irrigation installation projects. This role is perfect for an experienced operator who is comfortable using a mini excavator around utilities and is looking to contribute on a flexible schedule while maintaining a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Candidates must have verifiable experience operating heavy equipment, with the mini excavator being the top priority. Knowledge of job site coordination and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Site Work

• Operate and maintain mini excavators and other equipment such as trenchers and skid steers
• Accurately interpret blueprints and site plans to ensure proper trenching and layout
• Perform safe digging near utilities, observing all safety and company procedures
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and light preventative maintenance
• Assist with loading materials and clearing job sites

Irrigation & Commercial Service Support

• Support irrigation pre-install work (trenching, boring, pipe layout)
• Communicate with crew leads and managers to ensure timely job execution

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of heavy equipment operation experience, including verifiable mini excavator work
• Comfortable digging near utilities and working with care around buried systems
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions

Preferred

• Experience in irrigation or landscaping projects
• Familiarity with trenchers, pipe pullers, or boring equipment

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Part-time schedule; hours may vary by project demand
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed
