Job description

Chief Buildings is seeking a 2nd shift Machine Operator to join our team. This position will perform general machine operation, including set-up of equipment, processing of parts, and final part inspection on various assigned equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Safety is a priority at Chief Buildings. Candidates must follow safety practices, look out for teammates, and seek improvements to enhance safety culture.
• Basic understanding of hand tools such as tape measures, squares, and protractors.
• Experience with metal fabrication and overhead cranes is preferred.
• Ability to interpret fabrication drawings.
• Basic math skills including fractions and decimals.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• Perform duties safely and efficiently, using required safety equipment. Keep work area organized. Report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain compliance with quality control procedures and standards.
• Maximize the quantity of work completed.
• Know the capacities and proper operation of assigned equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines.
• Complete all paperwork and data entry accurately.
• Operate equipment such as punch press, shear, threader, or iron worker.
• Set up tooling as required.
• Work with minimal supervision.

Shift:

• 2nd shift – 4:30 pm to 3:00 am.
