Job summary

6AM City, LLC is seeking a dependable General Labor / Machine Operator to join its production team in Northbrook, IL. The role involves operating and monitoring machinery used for cutting, coiling, measuring, and packaging wire and cable products in a fast-paced, safety-focused setting.

The ideal candidate will have prior manufacturing or machine operation experience, be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and read specifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, or machine operation preferred.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor machines that cut, measure, spool, or coil wire and cable to specification.
  • Load raw material onto machines and thread through rollers or guides.
  • Read work orders and use measuring tools to ensure product meets required lengths and specifications.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, proper labeling, and quality standards.
  • Package finished spools or coils for shipment and label correctly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Report mechanical or quality issues to supervisor or maintenance team.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions and work orders
  • Willingness to learn and operate multiple machines as needed
  • Dependable with a good attendance record

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with electrical wire/cable or similar materials
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
