Job Description

The Elastomer Grinding Operator works at the 3M Hebron, KY plant site, collaborating with production team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives, supporting manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, process improvement, and training opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with production team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Support manufacturing operations by executing processes and initiatives that drive product quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop technical knowledge and operational expertise to support training and mentoring opportunities as experience is gained.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem‑solving activities to support production and engineering objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute ideas through continuous improvement and employee suggestion programs.
  • Follow established work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety requirements while maintaining product quality standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Applicants who meet the basic qualifications will be required to take and pass 3M tested selection process.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
  • Training or experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in Kaizen events or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Previous powered industrial vehicle and/or forklift operating experience.
  • Experience operating grinding, extrusion, or similar manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience following standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
