Job summary

TSG - The Sheridan Group in Hanover, PA is seeking a Machine Operator for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 12am–8am). This full-time role includes on-the-job training to run high-speed bindery equipment and produce books, catalogs, and printed materials used daily.

You will operate Digital Sheetfed Presses, keep machines running smoothly, prep and organize files for the press, work with a team to hit daily production goals, and inspect finished products for quality.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating machinery is preferred, any industry acceptable.
• Mechanical inclination with ability to use basic tools.
• Ability to read job instructions and measurements.
• Reliable team player and willing to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate Digital Sheetfed Presses for daily output.
• Keep machines running smoothly by making adjustments and monitoring quality.
• Prep, organize, and manage files for the press.

What You'll Do:

• Responsible for the efficient operation of Digital Sheetfed Presses
• Keep machines running smoothly by making adjustments and monitoring quality
• Accurately prep, organize, and manage files for the press
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving
• Manage paper and/or supply inventory
• Perform in regular rotation in bindery and finishing areas as needed

No press experience? No problem - we'll train you!

We're looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team
• Availability and willingness to work overtime as required
• Have a HS diploma or GED

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, Bindery, or Finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical Requirements

• Frequent turning, bending, lifting (up to 15 lbs)
• Frequent walking and/or standing.
• Occasional kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and sitting.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
