Job summary

Aerotek in Ellabell, GA seeks a CNC Machine Operator to set up, monitor, and operate CNC equipment in a temperature-controlled manufacturing facility. You will read blueprints, load programs, install tooling, and prepare materials according to work instructions to ensure parts meet precise specifications.

Candidates should have mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools, be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform in-process inspections using calipers

CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

The Machine Operator will operate CNC machines in a modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. This role involves setting up equipment, monitoring production, performing basic troubleshooting, and ensuring that all parts meet precise specifications through accurate measurement and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently to meet production goals.
• Perform machine setup, including loading programs, installing tooling, and preparing materials according to work instructions and blueprints.
• Monitor machine operations and production runs, making basic adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into and out of CNC machines, including handling awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
• Interpret and work from technical blueprints and detailed work instructions to ensure parts meet exact dimensional and quality standards.
• Support the CNC machining center with general production tasks, including material handling, part preparation, and machine support activities.
• Stand for extended periods while operating equipment and performing inspections in a production environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Any prior experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Experience as a machine operator or in a production role using hand and power tools is highly beneficial.
• Experience in mechanical or industrial work, including use of precision measuring instruments, is advantageous.
• Willingness to support both general production tasks and direct CNC machine operation as needed.

Work Environment

Multiple shift options are available, including weekday and weekend day and overnight shifts, and candidates should be open to working any shift as needed. The environment is production-oriented, requiring extended periods of standing and regular lifting and handling of parts, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ellabell, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $23.25/hr.
