Job Description
Operation and control of a direct embroidery machine to produce and finish quality embroidery in a timely manner according to the specifications of the production work order.
Skills/Expectations
- Safety: Follow all safety guidelines, including stopping the machine before working near the needle path, identifying moving parts, pinch and cut points, and understanding fire exits, emergency evacuation plans, inclement weather plans, and power loss procedures.
- Proper attire: Shoes, clothing, hair, glasses.
- Handling chemicals: Spray out chemicals.
- Use of sharp tools: Snips, scissors, needles, box cutters.
- Use of steamers.
- No smoking in the building.
- No food or drink on the production floor, water only.
Communications/Cooperation
- Display a positive work attitude towards colleagues, supervisors, and customers.
- Follow verbal directions from the floor lead.
- Follow all written instructions from work orders.
Daily Operation Skills
- Reading work orders thoroughly.
- Completing daily production reports.
- Starting shift checklists and new order checklists.
- Tying thread for changes.
- Threading needles properly.
- Changing out needles properly.
- Changing, cleaning, and loading bobbins.
- Starting and stopping machines correctly.
- Loading and unloading machines for embroidery.
- Running the machine and making basic design recoveries during operation.
- Finishing embroidery: trimming threads, cutting backing, removing Solvy.
Pack Out Finished Product
- Steaming, folding, hang tagging, box labeling, finishing production reports.
Work Hours
7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Two 10-minute breaks
30-minute lunch break
