Job summary

Hydraflow in California is seeking a diligent Machine Operator to set up and operate vertical/horizontal milling machines, drills, vapor hone, and punch presses. The role requires 1+ year in a machine shop and proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and basic shop math.

Fluency in English and US person status are required for ITAR compliance. This full-time position involves reading blueprints, performing first article inspections, and adhering to safety and 5S standards in a mid-size shop.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must have 1+ years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Must be familiar with basic measuring tools such as calipers, comparators and micrometers.
• Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand).
• Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines within the 2nd Operation area.
• Perform First Article Inspections.
• Inspect parts
• Complete daily paperwork
• Satisfy shop math requirements and select proper cutting tools, speeds and feeds
• Read blue prints and perform in-process inspection
• Follow 5S standards and safety rules

Overall Purpose:

The Machine Operator will set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines, automatic and manual drill presses, vapor hone, and punch presses

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate machines within the 2nd Operation area
• Perform First Article Inspections
• Inspect parts
• Complete daily paperwork
• Solve shop math related problems
• Make proper selection of cutting tools, speeds and feeds
• Properly complete dimensional inspection reports
• Properly operate various machines within the department
• Read blue prints
• Perform in-process inspection
• Follow safe work practices
• Clean work areas
• Follow both verbal and written instructions
• Crosstrain in other areas as needed
• Adhere to 5S Standards
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety

Other Duties:

• Other duties based on the needs of the Machine Shop

Work Environment:

Machine Shop environment with moderate to high noise level
