Fabrication Operator
Pay Rate: $16.25
Hours: M-TH 6am-3pm Fr 6am-2pm Some Saturdays 6-11am.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for fabricating components using a variety of production equipment. This position is the starting point of the production process.
Essential Functions
- Proficiently operating shears, saw, miter, benders and other misc. equipment.
- Fabricate components using a variety of production equipment.
- Perform quality checks and in-process monitoring.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of material consumption and WIP
- Select 'best fit' raw material blanks for cut sheet
- Cut material per router (internal paperwork that details each job)
- Load racks with the steel and parts associated with each job
- Attain basic product line knowledge (pull stainless steel sheets off holding racks in a way to decrease scratches)
- Adherence to all safety requirements required within this work area
- Perform additional duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor of this position
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Read a tape measure accurately to 1/32"
- After provided training on the business software, attain a proficiency level necessary to perform the functions of the position
- Promote a safe work environment
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Certified to operate PIV
- Able to work with a team and independently
- Possess Strong attention to detail
- Ability to concentrate on tasks while dealing with multiple interruptions
Minimum Required Experience or Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent vocational school or work experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in a manufacturing setting or fabrication specific vocational training
- Have basic mathematical knowledge
- Able to communicate verbally with other employee
You have 2+ years fabrication or manufacturing experience. You can read technical drawings and measure to 1/32 inch. You are comfortable lifting 50 lbs and operating PIV equipment
