Job summary

CTech Manufacturing in Wisconsin is seeking a Fabrication Machine Operator to load materials, set up equipment, and ensure parts meet specifications. You will read job specs, adjust machines, and operate turrets, brakes, and punches to keep production moving.

The role requires good CAD drawing interpretation, ruler and caliper reading, strong attention to detail, and willingness to work overtime in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operates fabrication shop machinery and equipment to produce parts.
  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Loads and unloads material from machinery using forklift where applicable.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on machinery and reports issues.
  • Monitors machine operation for defects and ensures quality before move to next stage.

Job description

Summary/Objective

Fabrication Machine Operators organize the required materials and operate machinery to create projects, while ensuring projects are accurate and complete before sending them on to the other areas of production.

Essential Functions

Operates fabrication shop machinery and equipment. Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements/thickness.

Loads and unloads material from machinery using forklift.

Performs preventative maintenance on machinery.

Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.

Machinery to be operated includes turrets, brake presses, various benders, and other punches and breakout devices to keep product moving effectively through the fabrication department.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds.
