Job summary

STERIS IMS is seeking a Manufacturing Machinery Operator to oversee the operation of machinery in a medical device manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have a mechanical inclination, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a team. This role requires monitoring assembly equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring product quality standards are met.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

Will be responsible for operation of manufacturing machinery utilized in a high-quality medical device manufacturing environment.

Duties
  1. Set-up and operate assembly equipment using prescribed methods and training to manufacture parts within acceptable tolerances and standards.
  2. Replace raw materials as required during set up process and during continuous runs of production lots.
  3. Continuously monitor assemble equipment while making in-process adjustments to ensure product conforms to specifications.
  4. Use required measuring instruments and gages or scales to check and ensure products meet specifications.
  5. Perform prescribed cleaning of equipment.
  6. Perform routine general maintenance when scheduled.
  7. Ensure compliance with STERIS Quality System policies and procedures pertaining to manufacturing processes.
  8. Communicate clearly with personnel and assigned work group.
  9. Perform work to meet all required quality specifications.
  10. Maintain and follow all safety standards.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
  • Ability to use measuring instruments, gages, and scales.
  • Ability to manufacture products according to procedures and drawings while maintaining quality standards.
  • Mechanical inclination and ability to make quick in-process adjustments.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds without assistance.
Preferred Experience

Minimum 3 years experience working with machinery in a manufacturing environment, preferred.

Skills

Responsible for troubleshooting machinery and assisting with resolving maintenance issues.

Pay rate for this opportunity is $21.34. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on factors including local labor market costs, relevant experience, education, certifications, language skills, etc.
