Job summary

The Marco Company, Fort Worth, TX, seeks a production technician to operate a range of heavy machinery and CNC equipment under close supervision. You will learn to set up machines, calibreate and run production cycles, and work with thermoforming and other equipment.

Responsibilities include inspecting parts with calipers and micrometers, keeping logs, and ensuring safe, efficient operation with attention to detail. Overtime may be required; training provided.

Qualifications

  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to read measuring devices.
  • Experience with heavy machinery, CNC routers, and related tooling preferred.
  • Able to set up, program, and operate CNC and manual machines.
  • Willingness to troubleshoot CNC issues and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines (calibration, maintenance) to start production cycles.
  • Operate CNC and manual machines; feed and unload material.
  • Inspect parts with measuring tools and record outputs.
  • Maintain production logs and report issues to supervision.
  • Assist with forklift movement and material handling as needed.
  • Follow safety guidelines and company policies.

Performs a variety of tasks under close supervision of higher-level employees. These tasks may include the use of power tools, thermoforming and CNC machines, welders, benders and other equipment as assigned to the department.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Set up machines (calibration, routine maintenance, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Feed, load and unload raw material or parts to machines.
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Maintain activity logs.
  • May load/unload, lift, and move material.
  • May be trained to act as forklift operator to assist with material movement.
  • Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.
  • Following instructions based on work instructions.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
  • Ability to read measuring devices and have basic math skills of addition & subtraction.
  • Set up, program, and operate one or more computerized or manual machines.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and rectifying problems that may occur on the CNC machines.
  • Knowledge of Thermoforming, CNC, wood working and/or laminating machines.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
  • Ability to work in a variety of roles.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
Education And Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Heavy Machinery, including CNC routers, lathe, gang rip and molders preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work in a varying temperature in a warehouse environment.
  • Regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment

The employee may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures, heights, and loud machinery or equipment. The employee may be exposed to hazardous chemicals. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
