Job summary

Professional Plastics is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to perform a variety of CNC and manual machine operations on plastic and metal parts. The role requires reading drawings and process sheets, setting up machines, and ensuring parts meet precise tolerances.

The ideal candidate has prior machine operation experience and may hold CNC certification. High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with 1–3 years in a machine operator role. Full-time employment with comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC/Mills, Lathes, Routers and/or saws to machine plastic or metal pieces to spec.
  • Interpret drawings, program sheets and process sheets to determine work.
  • Perform diversified operations on CNC machines and maintain tolerances.
  • Inspect pieces to ensure quality and verify dimensions.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans and performs a variety of machine operations utilizing numerical controlled machines, i.e. Mills, Lathes, Routers and/or saws to machine plastic or metal work pieces to specifications by performing the following duties
  • Interprets complicated drawings, program sheets, instructions, and process sheets to determine work to be done
  • Performs diversified operations on numerical controlled machines
  • Performs a variety of related operations to close and interrelated tolerances
  • Reviews setup sheet and specifications to determine sequence and dimensions of finished work piece
  • Attaches fixtures to machine according to setup instructions
  • Manipulates controls to start machine
  • Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions
  • Performs a variety of inspection and gaging operations to insure maintenance of quality standards and specifications
  • Measures work piece for conformance to specifications
  • Notifies Supervisor of discrepancies
  • Adjusts machine according to specifications
  • Cleans machine parts and performs machine maintenance
Minimum Qualifications

To perform the job successfully, the individual must have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Previous machine operation experience is required.
  • CNC machine certification a plus.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years experience in a machine operator role
