Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. in Tennessee seeks a Machine Operator to operate and set up coil-fed and hand-fed presses, and to support assembly machines with basic inspections.

You will lift up to 50 pounds, follow safety rules, and help keep a clean, efficient workspace. The role includes daily reporting, labeling and data entry, with a background in vocational training or a high school diploma common for candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 1-2 year vocational training/associates degree.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and follow safety regulations.
• Experience with press setup and basic inspection is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up large coil-fed presses and smaller hand-fed presses.
• Set up assembly machines; operate tapping equipment, drill presses, CNC and crimping machines.
• May perform incoming, in-process or final inspection per work instructions; label, weigh and data entry.
• Fill out daily reports: labor cards, waste, defects, downtime and SPC data.
• Lift/move up to 50 pounds; maintain a clean, safe work area.

Position Summary

Machine Operator

Responsibilities

Operate & set up both large coil fed presses as well as smaller hand-fed press, use and set-up of assembly machines, etc. Perform simple, dexterous operation with hands, load and unload brazing furnaces, operate tapping equipment, drill presses, CNC machines, crimping machines, etc.

Additionally, teammates may perform incoming, in-process or final inspection as detailed in the appropriate work instructions; and/or label, weigh, perform data entry duties, deliver product from storage locations to a specific machinery or rack locations.

Teammates fill out daily reports such as labor cards, waste and defective reports, machine down time reports, SPC data collection, and any other prescribed by management.

To manage these duties, teammates lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly in a safe manner, observe all other safety regulations and rules, and are responsible to keep their work area neat and clean.

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree
