Job summary

Bench Dogs in Denver, PA is seeking a full-time Machine Operator on the second shift to support its machining department. The role runs Monday to Thursday, 3:00pm–1:30am, with pay from $19.94 per hour and up.

Opportunities exist to advance toward Machinist Level 1 and Level 2 as skills develop. Primary duties include setting up, maintaining, and operating machines, ensuring safe, efficient production and high-quality finished goods delivered on time.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometer, etc.)

  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear)

  • Ability to adapt to changing situations while maintaining quality standards and safety procedures
  • Ability to ascertain and prioritize the important features of a design and make sure those aspects are machined carefully

Responsibilities

BENCH DOGS JOB OPENING: CNC Machine Operator - Manufacturing - Second Shift

Bench Dogs is looking for a full-time Machine Operator on second shift!

Bench Dogs is a small manufacturing company located in Denver, PA that specializes in retail displays, store fixtures, and commercial case goods. We have under 100 employees and are unique in that we are a custom, full-service design, engineering, and manufacturing company that sees products from the time they're simply an idea to when they're fully built and installed onsite.

Bench Dogs has employees responsible for everything from design, engineering, and project management to production, inventory, and installation. Our facility is often complimented for its cleanliness and organization and is complete with offices, a warehouse area for inventory and materials, loading docks for staging and shipping goods, a machining department, and a large shop floor area for assembly that includes a finishing area and lamination booth.

Our Machine Operator role here at Bench Dogs is part of our Machining Department, which consists of the following machines:

  • Schelling Panel Saw
  • Heian CNC Router
  • Anderson CNC Router
  • 2 Weeke Machines
  • Homag Drill Teq V-200
  • Homag Edge Banding Machine

The Machine Operator position we're looking to fill is for our second shift, which has a schedule of Monday to Thursday, 3:00pm - 1:30am. The compensation rate for the role depends on level of knowledge, experience, and skill and has a pay scale ranging from $19.94 per hour and up. Additionally, our Machining Department does offer room for growth as it also consists of a Machinist Level 1 and a Machinist Level 2 position, which contributors may work towards and grow into as they learn more and hone their skills.

As a Machine Operator at Bench Dogs, a contributor's primary responsibilities are to assist production by setting up, maintaining, and operating our machining. The goal is to run equipment safely, effectively, and in accordance with company procedures to ensure jobs run smoothly. It is extremely important to Bench Dogs that our products are of a high quality and go through production in a safe and timely manner that allows our finished goods to be delivered and installed on time for our customers.

A typical day as a Machine Operator includes the following activities:

  • Setting up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Controlling and adjusting machine settings (e.g., speed)
