Position: Machine Operator (Electronics Assembly)
Openings on the following shifts:
- 1stshift / 1 opening / Monday-Thursday 5am-3pm
- 2ndshift /1 opening / Monday-Thursday 3pm-1am
- Weekend shift / 1 opening /Friday-Sunday 9am-9pm
Summary:
Seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Machine Operator to run and maintain automated machinery for the assembly of electronic components. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain surface mount and/or auto-insertion machines for printed circuit board assembly, adhering to quality standards and production schedules.
- Verify documentation, machine programming, and customer specifications.
- Manage parts, including pulling, counting, verifying, and setting up for assembly; return parts to inventory.
- Utilize inspection equipment (e.g., X-ray) to ensure proper placement and solder quality.
- Create and adjust machine programs as needed.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience/training; or an equivalent combination.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (e.g., 10 hours).
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to visually inspect small items for accuracy.
- Manual dexterity and ability to handle small parts.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions in English.
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals).
- Intermediate computer skills; ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and good attendance record.
- Ability to file in numerical sequence.
- Team-oriented with good time management and a results-driven approach.
- Proactive, with good decision-making and planning/organizing skills.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- IPC-610 certification is a plus.
Physical & Environmental Considerations:
- Requires standing, walking, using hands extensively, and reaching for most of the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and a typically loud noise level.
Helpful Previous Experience/Interests:
Experience in roles such as servers, seamstresses, hairdressers, or file clerks. Interest in hands-on problem-solving, working with machinery, or mechanical design/repair.
