Kilian Manufacturing has the largest line of DAVENPORT Machines in operation in the Onondaga County area! If you are looking for a safe company to work for that has a great culture, join our team of experienced machinists and repair technicians!

Kilian has opportunities for experienced Davenport Operators and Davenport Repair Specialists to operate a line of multiple spindle screw machines, checking for quality of parts.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for maintaining production levels and quality standards.
2. Remove, sharpen and reset tools as necessary.
3. Load bar stock and pull chips as necessary.
4. Maintain tool log sheets.
5. Perform all SPC charting as required for a specific job or group of machines.
6. Perform set-up operations as needed, making adjustments, completing repairs as necessary and reporting problems to the line coordinator.
7. Perform basic maintenance.
8. Ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
9. Follow preventative maintenance program.
10. Wear personal protective equipment as required and follow all safety rules and regulations.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
12. Grind tooling.
13. Troubleshoot machine, tooling and part issues.

Qualifications:

1. Set-up experience on all types of screw machines, preferred.
2. Previous Davenport experience operating and setting-up machines.
3. Good basic math skills.
4. Ability to use micrometers and other measuring devices.
5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
6. Knowledge of mechanical gearing, cams, hydraulics and electrical systems.

Physical Requirements:

1. Lift up to 50 lbs.
2. Stand for 4+ hours at a time.
3. Ability to work from a ladder/stairs.
