Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator (Lv. I) – 2nd Shift

Summary: This full-time, temp-to-perm Machine Operator (Lv. I) role is a great opportunity to join a leading global packaging company. You'll be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating machinery to produce high-quality bags and pouches in a clean, climate-controlled environment. This position offers a four-day workweek, hands-on technical experience, and the potential for career growth in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Shift:

  • Monday – Thursday, 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM

Pay:

  • $19.10 an Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate multiple machines, including secondary operations.
  • Perform in-process inspections and complete required quality documentation.
  • Maintain production levels while meeting quality standards.
  • Read and follow Job Order Book and routing instructions.
  • Support team members by providing basic training when needed.
  • Complete all required paperwork and label leftover material accordingly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, meeting food safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Report food safety concerns in alignment with SQF and GMP requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of machine guarding and LO/TO compliance.
  • Move materials and finished goods to designated locations.
  • Work overtime as needed and comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Machine operator or mechanical experience preferred (machines, cars, mechanical systems).
  • Manufacturing background is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions accurately.
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
  • Strong communication skills and organizational ability.

Work Environment:

  • Climate-controlled indoor production facility.
  • Safety shoes and eye protection required at all times on the production floor.
  • Occasional exposure to minor non-toxic smells, dust, mechanical parts, and elevated noise levels.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and use hands/fingers.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of standard office and manufacturing equipment.
