Job description

Join to apply for the Machine Operator role at United Envelope.

Openings for 2nd (3:00pm to 11:00pm) and 3rd (11:00pm to 7:00am) shifts, Monday through Friday. Two weeks of training will be provided, possibly on a different shift.

Role Responsibilities

• Operate machines efficiently to produce and box envelopes accurately.
• Examine job orders, interpret specifications, and review samples and shipping instructions.
• Check orders throughout production for accuracy in labeling, printing, and packaging.
• Inspect product quality, including envelope size, shape, window, gum seal, side seam, and color print.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform machine wash-up and cleaning duties.
• Complete paperwork accurately for labor, time, quality, maintenance, and production records.
• Count envelopes accurately into cartons and on skids.
• Pack envelopes neatly into cartons, keeping pace with machine speeds and placing on skids.
• Collaborate with machine adjusters on machine or product issues.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of Machine Operator experience or similar role.
• Mechanical aptitude, analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to read a ruler, and basic math skills.
• Ability to adhere to safety standards.
• Strong work ownership, attendance, and quality focus.
• Initiative to take on responsibilities.
• Enjoy hands-on work.
• Effective communication skills.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.
• Experience in the envelope industry is a plus but not required.

Physical Demands

Stand for the shift duration, occasional walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., repetitive grasping, twisting, reaching, bending, crouching, kneeling, stooping, pushing/pulling. Visual and tactile acuity required.
