Job summary

Cenveo in Chicago, IL is seeking Machine Packer (Packers) for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The role involves loading and packing envelopes on automatic hand-fed or web envelope folding machines and ensuring product quality.

Employees may train on the first shift and will work Mon-Fri with Saturday duties during busy seasons. Pay starts at $18.00 per hour plus a $2 per hour 3rd shift premium, with possible shift premiums and a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of relevant work experience in a production environment.
• Quality inspection skills and ability to measure/read a ruler.

Responsibilities

• Loads paper on to automatic hand-fed or web envelope folding machines; packs finished product.
• Inspects quality of envelopes, labels cartons, reports variances to key personnel.
• Checks current production orders/schedules to determine daily production requirements.
• May be required to do rework on finished product; cleans up work area during/end of shift.
• Other duties as assigned/required.

Information about the Company: Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with over 100 years of experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes manufactured annually. We are hiring immediately for 2nd & 3 rd shift Machine Operators (Packers) for our manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL.

Machine Packer Pay/Schedule:

• Pay $18.00 per hour + shift premiums
• 3rd shift premium $2 per hour
• 3rd shift: 10pm - 6am
• Training may take place on 1 st shift 6am -- 2pm
• Schedule: Mon - Fri / Sat required during busy season/based on business needs.

Machine Packer Responsibilities & Daily Duties:

• Loads paper on to automatic hand-fed orweb envelope folding machines; pack finished product.
• Inspects quality of envelopes, labels cartons, reports variances to key personnel.
• Checks current production orders/schedules to determine daily production requirements.
• May be required to do rework on finished product; Cleans up work area during/end of shift.
• Other duties as assigned/required.

Machine Packer Physical Requirements & Work Environment:-

• Ability to keep up with a high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift.
• Mental alertness; Ability to step up/reach overhead/manually feed paper into machine.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds; Manual dexterity required to grasp objects.
• Exposure to arm/wrist fatigue; Exposure to noise, hazardous materials (inks, solvents, glue, etc.).
• Must be able to work in hot or cold weather.
