Job summary

CoWorx Staffing Services in Ayer, MA is seeking an entry-level Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role you will assist with operating fabrication equipment, reading blueprints, measuring finished products, and maintaining a safe, organized work area.

Previous metal fabrication experience is helpful, but candidates with mechanical aptitude and basic math skills are encouraged to apply. This on-site position requires standing for 8 hours as part of a busy production

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read blueprints required.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English required.
• Basic math skills required.
• Familiarity with various metals helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Review specifications for operating sequence of machine.
• Load, operate, run, and unload machines including CNC, Press Brake, Laser, etc.
• Maintain specifications by tapping, pemming, drilling, grooving, milling, and cutting.
• Adjust speeds, feeds, and bend allowances.
• Clean and maintain machine and tooling.
• Measure finished work to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Lift work pieces, fixtures, etc.
• Maintain a clean work area and participate in housekeeping.
• Detect malfunctions and troubleshoot; adhere to company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Previous metal fabrication experience is preferred, but candidates with mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Review specifications for operating sequence of machine
• Loads work pieces, operates, runs, and unloads machines to include but not limited to CNC, Press Brake, Laser, etc.
• Maintain specifications by tapping, pemming, drilling, grooving, milling, and cutting
• Adjust speeds, feeds, and bend allowances
• Clean and maintain machine and tooling
• Measure finished work to ensure conformance to specifications
• Lift work pieces, fixtures, etc.
• Maintains clean work area and participates in general housekeeping in department
• Detect malfunctions and troubleshootAdhere to all company policies
• Other duties as assigned
