Aerotek in Auburn, WA is hiring for a contract-to-hire role focused on cutting steel with band saws and operating sit-down forklifts. You will perform quality checks, maintain equipment, and ensure a clean, safe workspace.

Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and a defined career path within a large materials facility. Shifts vary; pay ranges from $22.50 to $26.15 per hour depending on experience and shift.

Qualifications

• Experience operating band saws for cutting steel.
• Proficient in reading a tape measure.
• Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.
• Ability to perform paperwork and maintain chain of custody.

Responsabilités

• Operate band saws to cut steel materials according to specifications.
• Drive and operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Perform visual quality control inspections to ensure cut material quality.
• Maintain processing equipment in a safe and clean condition.
• Keep processing area clean, safe, and orderly.
• Accurately complete required information entries.
• Process material per work orders and apply metal to customer orders.
• Learn to operate aluminum saws for long cuts (4'–20').
• Participate in classroom and hands‑on training with experienced trainers.
• Previous experience using a band saw for cutting steel and forklift operation.
• Read a tape measure accurately.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and good paperwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate band saws to cut steel materials according to specifications.
• Drive and operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Perform visual quality control inspections to ensure the accuracy and quality of the cut materials.
• Maintain the processing equipment in a safe and clean condition.
• Ensure the processing area is kept clean, safe, and orderly.
• Accurately complete all required information entries.
• Apply metal to customer orders and process material according to work order specifications.
• Learn to operate aluminum saws ranging from 4'-20' long cuts for cutting materials from .019 to 10".
• Participate in classroom training and hands-on training with experienced trainers.
• Previous experience using a band saw for cutting steel.
• Ability and experience in operating a sit-down forklift.
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work on your feet.
• Good paperwork skills and understanding of chain of custody.

1st:

4:00AM - 2:30Pm Monday - Thursday

6:00AM - 2:30PM Monday - Friday

2nd:

2:15PM - 12:45AM Monday - Thursday

12:15PM - 8:45PM Monday - Friday

12:00PM - 10:30M - Monday - Thursday

3rd:

4:00AM - 4:30PM Friday - Saturday

4:00AM - 2:30PM Friday - Monday

Pay:

$22.50 - 26.15/hr (depending on experience and shift)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.15 - $26.15/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
