Job summary

Aerotek in Auburn, WA is hiring for a contract-to-hire role focused on cutting steel with band saws and operating sit-down forklifts. You will perform quality checks, maintain equipment, and ensure a clean, safe workspace.

Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and a defined career path within a large materials facility. Shifts vary; pay ranges from $22.50 to $26.15 per hour depending on experience and shift.

Qualifications

• Experience operating band saws for cutting steel.
• Proficient in reading a tape measure.
• Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.
• Ability to perform paperwork and maintain chain of custody.

Responsibilities

• Operate band saws to cut steel materials according to specifications.
• Drive and operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Perform visual quality control inspections to ensure cut material quality.
• Maintain processing equipment in a safe and clean condition.
• Keep processing area clean, safe, and orderly.
• Accurately complete required information entries.
• Process material per work orders and apply metal to customer orders.
• Learn to operate aluminum saws for long cuts (4'–20').
• Participate in classroom and hands‑on training with experienced trainers.
• Previous experience using a band saw for cutting steel and forklift operation.
• Read a tape measure accurately.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and good paperwork skills.
