ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance through 5S, GMP, and Kaizen events. Supports production by providing mechanical maintenance and responding promptly to line calls. Collaborates with operators and packers to ensure resolution.
- Troubleshoots and identifies sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, minimizing impact on production output and client orders.
- Utilizes and understands PLCs, motors (3-phase), servo drivers, VFDs, encoders, sensors, multimeters, and reads power, voltage, and current parameters. Performs proactive line inspections to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Sets up jobs and changeovers on all forming machines, handling hardware, vision systems, automatic packing, and packaging equipment.
- Possesses knowledge of electrical distribution systems, schematics, blueprints, and equipment, including maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems within the facility.
- Tests, repairs, and maintains electrical distribution systems and equipment. Performs modifications and installs new electrical equipment as needed.
- Inspects and measures parts to determine changes in requirements. Dismantles machinery and replaces defective parts.
- Assists with data collection related to trends and helps produce maintenance reports.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Coordinates with outside electrical contractors and repair organizations.
- Ensures all equipment is clean, safety guards are in place, and performs safety checks on machinery and systems.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates and coordinates with various departments including engineering, operations, quality, and production.
- Demonstrates behaviors aligned with GMP, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Supports initiatives related to QMS, GMS, and formula G.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Two-year electrical degree preferred or five years of electrical experience in manufacturing.
- Industrial Maintenance Degree or Certification in Electrical or Electronics; North Carolina Licensed or Registered Electrician required.
- 2-4 years of related manufacturing experience.
- Lockout/Tagout certification or experience.
FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical diagrams and drawings.
