Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Machine Maintenance Mechanic for a permanent onsite role in Kent, WA. The technician will perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspect equipment, and diagnose malfunctions on aerospace production systems.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Hands-on maintenance experience including preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting CNC equipment, hydraulic presses, vacuum furnaces, X-ray systems, lasers, or hot forming machines.
  • Experience working with hydraulics, PLCs, electrical systems, and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, sketches, schedules, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software for tracking maintenance activities and equipment history.
  • Knowledge of shop math and the use of precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing equipment issues.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

Job Description

The Machine Maintenance Mechanic performs routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production and manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of aerospace assets. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, the ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints, and a consistent focus on safety and regulatory compliance. The position suits a hands-on maintenance professional who is eager to learn, can troubleshoot complex issues, and works effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain production and manufacturing equipment to support reliable operations.
  • Inspect equipment for proper functioning and perform all levels of preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnose basic and complex equipment malfunctions and complete repairs or adjustments efficiently and accurately.
  • Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings, and technical documents to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established standards, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Train other team members in multiple areas and on a variety of maintenance skills to support cross-functional capability.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to identify, schedule, and plan repairs, preventive maintenance activities, and project work.
  • Oversee and manage work performed to ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
  • Work under limited oversight while maintaining high standards of workmanship and accountability.
  • Source and procure parts required for repair and preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage equipment history.
  • Troubleshoot and service equipment such as CNC machines, hydraulic presses, vacuum furnaces, X-ray systems, lasers, and hot forming machines, as applicable.
  • Apply knowledge of hydraulics, PLCs, electrical systems, and pneumatics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Use shop math and precision measuring equipment to verify tolerances and ensure equipment is adjusted and operating correctly.
Essential Skills
  • 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial maintenance, including preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $64792.00 - $92976.00/yr.
